The Il Barlettaio Collection

When Francesco Bertozzi decided to revitalize the family business he founded Il Barlettaio. That was in 1995; today, the estate boasts organic certification for over three hectares of vineyards and another three of olive trees. The objective at Il Barlettaio is to improve on a daily basis, always respecting the land and producing wines that are increasingly a reflection of their district and their philosophy: wines that are proudly Radda.

Chianti Classico DOCG

Il Barlettaio’s flagship wine, this is a Chianti Classico that speaks loud and clear of their vineyard and cellar philosophy: respect for tradition.

  • 100% Sangiovese

  • Galestro made of argillaceous slate

  • 500 meters above sea level

  • Guyot and Spurred Cordon

  • Grapes are manually harvested in small cases. Fermentation takes place at 26 degrees celsius. Maceration lasts between 12-15 days. After racking, the wine is aged for 10-12 months in large barrels of French and Slavonian oak. After bottling, we further age the wine for 10 months before release.

Chianti Classico Riserva

Il Barlettaio produces their reserve from a selection of grapes found on vines that naturally yield less.
